Default Another Thing That Irks Me

That McF's making all of these old rare 'archived' figures available at one of their stores, while most of us loyal and long time fans who aren't graced with living in Arizona will miss out. I don't see why they couldn't sell them online.

Oh well, we lose.

Don't worry. All the local scalpers will make sure all those figs promptly wind up on ebay.

Yup, sucks for non-Arizona residents. But that's not me.

if they released them online.. they'd most likely crash the servers from all the scalpers and then there'd be 50 threads about how unfair it was that they didn't get them, and that cause the servers crashed... lose, lose

Same can be said about SDCC and other convention exclusives. That's just the way it is. Just save the money you would've spent and go get a Starbucks or something.

What kind of figures they got there? Do they include Collector Club Exclusives?

Should have done a product lottery like with the Deions. It worked, no server crashes.

But no, that would MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE.

The sell goes on during Super Bowl Week. I would guess that a plethora of out-of-towners will be lucky enough to grab some of this product.
If it makes you feel better about it, I don't have the opportunity to buy any of these archived figures or chase figures, ever!

And it is what it is, they are personal archived items of Todd's.
There are not hundreds and thousands of pieces of one particular item just sitting at the warehouse archived.

What irks me more is, Why doesn't the McFarlane online store ship to Singapore???!!?!?!?!?

I can't even use my Singapore Credit Card to buy the items and ship it to a fren who lives in the States! Now tell me why that??

I mean, I really really like McFarlane's stuff, but half of the cool stuff doesn't really find it's way to Singapore until god knoes when! It's really really annoying!

Take for example, Lost series 2.

Some of you fellas already have em, opened and displayed, where as us in Singapore, can only pray that it actually arrives here!!

Hmmmm, I can't say why we don't accept your credit card.

Isn't it difficult to get a lot of U.S. product there?

It's not that you don't accept MY credit card, it's just that when you're filling out the information for the credit card, Singapore is LEFT OUT AS A COUNTRY OPTION!

And nope, It's rather easy shopping online from other stores, Just yours...

The hardest US product to get, is.....McFarlane's stuff. I can pretty much easily get other brands and what not.

Joe - It doesn't make me feel any better that you can't get them, I have no ill will against you. I think this stunt amplifies Todd's views. His business decisions tend to be sports-focused and pet project (his Arizona retail stores) focused. And it being done for the Super Bowl, might even get him some press in the Arizona Gazette.

However, he could just as easily opened his archives and had a lottery at the online store, where ALL of his life-long supporters would have a fighting chance to get some of these goodies. Yes, doing it that way may have been more of a hassle, the road less traveled, but wouldn't it show what & where he really cherishes?

Again, Joe, this is my opinion, nothing against you. I just think it's time for Todd to get back to his roots.

Chris

You're being ridiculous Chris. This stuff they're selling is odds and ends. Putting them online would be a waste of time, since there is such low stock.

Like any company/store, when they have old stock/clearance, they don't distribute it to every store across the country, they consolidate it to one location where it will sell the best. For McF, this is the SuperBowl event.

The only way to make it truly 'fair' would be to auction it off, but then everybody would ***** that they're scalping it.

The fact of the matter is, they probably have only one or two of every specific item, so even if they put it online, you wouldn't get anything anyway.

EXACTLY.. it's not like they have 400 one one item, and 1000 of another, it's probably more like 5 of this, 2 of that, 10 of this, 12 of that... if even that much.. and besides, you don't even know what they're having.. it'd just be a waste of their time and money to catalog them for online sales, then do all the work on having a lottery for each item? um... yeah.. okay... man I swear, you lost fans just don't understand how businesses work do ya?

Not to mention that this is a great opportunity for the Super Bowl celebration and bringing people into the stores. McF and Co. would be stupid to not have some type of promotion/sales going on. I don't fault them at all. It's a smart business decision.
