Spawn The HellSpawn by MayaDamien
Hello there guys,
I am a freelance 3d artist and I just wanted to show you some images that I have made of my own version of one of my favourite characters ever , Spawn . This is a full 3d model which I sculpted in Zbrush and made the basemesh for in Maya. I wanted to get Todd Mcfarlane to see it for the longest while , but I dont know how to contact him
I have been collecting spawn action figures for many years now and can attribute much of my influences as an artist to Mcfarlane Toys.
This is not Al Simmons however , its a different person. His name is 'Kufu' and he was once a Priest . His colours vary from that of a normal hellspawn because there is a bit of an identity crisis between himself and a man on deathrow so he is malformed as a result. Both Priest and deathrow prisoner are caught in a fire and happen to die near eachother.Hell and Heaven become confused about the souls , it would appear that there is something remarkably similar about the soul of a man on death row and a worshipful priest . What could it be?

Really cool zbrush stuff, man. VERY cool. I wouldn't want to read a comic done in that style though, to be quite honest.

Hey Guys thanks for your responses !

Working on this project started in December 2008 actually, I would just play around with ideas and sculpt / sketch the scene I wanted but it got shelved for more than 8 months because I got a job as the body sculptor on Fight Night Round 4 . The Project gathered alot of dust but it was always in the back of my mind , I would frequently buy spawn comics and the action figures that were a constant reminder.
So when I rebooted the project the sculpture itself took about a month and a half ,on and off( I was between some other projects as well). I would say it might have taken 2 weeks of full-time work to complete this with concept- in -hand. My idea kept constantly evolving , this is how art goes alot of the times
So once again thank you guys for your comments and if anyone knows how I can contact Mr.Mcfarlane directly please PM me an email address , I would greatly appreciate it .
